Scott Wheeler, Owner
Scott started his career as an astronaut who took 4 trips on the shuttle and was instrumental in the building of the International Space Station. After an early retirement, Scott began his career as a body builder and eventually won Mr. Universe. Tiring of that, Scott decided to swim across the Pacific Ocean which took him just 14 days! He then moved on to Pools Plus where he works tirelessly to clear up cloudy pools and to kill off really tough strains of algae.
Cameron Krampe, Operations Manager
As he walked with dust in his eyes down the long highway that is Route 66, he was confronted with a choice: Should he continue living as a drifter or pursue his calling as a glorified pool boy. Luckily for West Michigan, he chose the latter.
Marcus Moncrief, Service Manager
Marcus was trained from the age of 6 by MI6 in England. He specialized in chemicals and their handling. After a few years of hiatus, he decided to settle down for a quiet life with a job where he could still put his skills to use.
Matt Kimberley, Associate
After a short stint in Single A minor league baseball, (10 day contract), Matt found a temporary home, living out his boyhood dream as a sports broadcaster, all be it one season for a local high school team. Shortly after, he became a full time Sasquatch researcher. During his studies he found a set of large prints that led him to the doors of employment at Pools Plus.
Rich Bout, Service Technician
Known as "Mr. Wonderful", Rich spent most of his early career in the Playboy Mansion as a caretaker. He then served as a personal driver and body guard for Tommy Lee and Pam Anderson. He is now "living the life" as a Pool Guy. He is installing new pool liners and delivering hot tubs for Pools Plus.
Dave Hernandez, Service Technician
Dave Hernandez is a legend. This is a man who knows more about pools and spas than most grizzly bears know about holding their breath underwater to catch a market-fresh salmon. Dave walked through the doors of Pools Plus years ago with a plan- he was determined to be the best of the best. Customer satisfaction is his lunch, while hard work and dedication are his evening dinner. He doesn't have time for breakfast.
Jessica Wheeler, Inside Sales
Jessica was born a baby genius and an idiot-savant. She could read at the age of 6 weeks and was driving cars by the age of 2! After graduating from Yale at the age of 7, she decided to get another degree from Harvard! She recently published her 3rd novel, a self-help book and is considering a run for President. While she decides, she tests water and battles cloudy water here at Pools Plus!
Trevor Hill, Sales Associate
This former sea-floor explorer has seen some of the most treacherous waters on Earth. After a traumatizing discovery on his most recent excursion, which he never wishes to speak of, he decided to live a more simple life. No matter how green the water may be, he is determined to solve the mystery and rid your pool of what looms beneath the surface.
Tyler McDaniel, Associate
Tyler started as a rower and won gold at the 2008 Chinese Olympic games. The gold was almost lost due to a Killer Algae strain. After the algae incident, he has dedicated his life to fighting off algae at Pools Plus, Inc.
Alec Daniels, Jenison Store Manager
At age 16, Alec created a new chemical that altered the human body to allow them to breathe in Outer Space. He pursued this and created a colony on the moon. This was short lived due to an alien invasion where everyone had to flee back home. He now uses his intelligence as an employee at Pools Plus.
Bri Hebert, Sales Associate
As a young child Brianna embarked on a career of dancing water aerobics. One day at the olympics she was striving for the gold medal, when she slipped on algae at the bottom of the pool, causing her wonderful performance to be ruined. She was determined that her ultimate goal was to work for Pools Plus to rectify that problem so that no one would ever have algae in there pool. She happily returned to the olympics and won her gold medal after being employed by Pools Plus.
Jayden Heyer, Associate
Jayden Heyer, protege born at a whopping 6 lbs 9 oz, was brimming with thoughtfulness the moment he entered the world. Many knew at a young age he would be a master debater in any situation that arose. The true secret behind Jayden's wisdom lies within the man bun, but he's willing to share his knowledge of pool chemicals with all of West Michigan.
Justen Bowden, Sales Associate
You will likely recognize Justen from ESPN8 (The Ocho). A 12-time consecutive World Champion in Double AND Triple Blindfolded Backflips, he sustained a career-ending injury and now splits his time between his two passions: Pools Plus and coaching local Blindfolded Backflip teams. Stop in for his autograph, and all of your pool supply needs!
Brandon Buschert, Associate
In 1997, a meteorite crashed into Luton Park, Rockford. We found Brandon inside, holding a bottle of test strips and knew from that moment forward that he was sent here to sell pool supplies!
DeeAnn Degroft, Sales Associate
Deeann... who is she? What can be said about her? ...Except that she spent too many years fighting to right the wrongs of the world as a private detective. Too many close calls... too many nights spent with her nose to the grind stone, up to her neck in mysteries. She found peace poolside... the sound of the water gently lapping at the vinyl pool walls. There was only one mystery that still ate away at her... what was this cloudiness that plagued the water?....
Shannon Vaughn, Associate
Shannon started at age three reading 800 page books to satisfy her thirst for knowledge and stories. At the age of ten, Shannon had read her way through multiple libraries filled with books. With her nose stuck in another book, Shannon found herself stumbling into Pools Plus. In under two hours, Shannon had read through every manual in the store. Since then she has joined Pools Plus to help people achieve ultimate water clarity, as well as developing a list of the the top 17 spa scents.
Danielle Armstrong, Supervisor
Danielle comes from a long line of Scottish warriors. After her time with the Scottish army, she went to New York to fulfill her dream of becoming a Broadway actress. Bored and fed up with the phoniness of showbiz, Danielle then traveled America and landed in Grand Rapids where she started working at Pools Plus. She now helps pool and spa customers with their water troubles and works with families to find the right spa for their home.
Bryan Snell, Sales Manager
Bryan is a highly skilled guitarist, playing in such bands as Rock Band and Guitar Hero. He also plays mild-mannered "Pool Boy" by day, but he's a "Superhero" by night. Since being bitten by a radioactive algae colony, he has inherited their strengths and weaknesses. He uses these against them in the battle against Good vs Evil.
Jarod Wolters, Associate
One day, late in the fall right before opening the store, we found a baby lying next to the front entrance. Wrapped in blanket, his face blue from the cold, he was taken inside, where the crew named him Jarod. They raised him over the next 16 years in the back supply closet. When he finally spoke his first word "Pool", we knew he was destined to work here some day!
Morgan Loper, Sales Associate
She started her journey through life in Japan with sumo wrestling training. On her journey to become the worlds first female champion until she was training on the beach of Miyakojima when she discovered her true calling as a water enthusiast. Now you know the rest of the story, hence her desire to work with the Pools Plus family!
Luke Vanderhill, Associate
After his 2016 run for the presidential office failed, Luke got a job at Pools Plus to fund his next campaign. He now includes a ban on all foreign algae on his 2020 platform to appeal to the pool owning communities.
Austin Markward, Supervisor
After two years playing professional football for the Detroit Lions, Austin broke every bone in his body due to a rogue ball. He had played football for his entire life and did not know what to do next. He moved on to break records in Girl Scout cookie sales. Now he spends his time testing water and selling pool chemicals at Pools Plus!
Presley Gilcrest, Sales Associate
Presley was at Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina enjoying her summer and suddenly a big 12 foot shark grabbed her leg. She needed a safe haven so she moved to Michigan. She came upon pools plus, and with the clear water produced she has no fear because she can see the nail polish on her toes. Her purpose was to be employed by this great company, so that everyone's water could be this crystal clear!
Kaylee West, Associate
At the mere age of six years old, Kaylee's parents realized they had a child prodigy when she started reciting pi to one hundred digits. At the age of 9, Kaylee was taking calculus courses on weekends at the local university. At 16, she started working for NASA performing complex mathematical calculations and finally at 20 she was teaching a course called Stochastic Systems for Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan when she realized that she wanted something more fulfilling in life and started her career at Pools Plus.
Bryce Akins, Supervisor
Immediately after birth, Bryce was sent to China to master the art of egg roll making. After completing his training, he took his talents to France to dabble with crepes. Finally, after creating world renowned French-Asian fusion dishes, Bryce found his true calling – keeping pools and hot tubs of West Michigan clear and clean.
Harold Horning, Service Technician
Founder of "Hairless Club for Men", he is not only the CEO, but also a client. He started out as a venture capitalist and was the driving force behind Bill Gates. When he tired of making "hands over fists" money, he turned his sights on more modest ventures which brings him to Pools Plus. Motto: Keep them hot, wet and smiling!
Jordan Reda, Holland Store Manager
Jordan was raised by Bears so she knows how to work hard and kill the competition, sometimes literally. She studied in china to become a ninja warrior and is now back home ready to clear some pools and fulfill her pool destiny. Jordan enjoys fishing, sleeping, rolling in the grass and back scratches. She can have a bit of a temper but only because she’s just so passionate about water chemistry.
